Hi there wonderful people! It's a brand new year already. It's the time of the year where new resolutions are being made and new goals being set because the dawn of a new year somehow makes everyone excited and full of enthusiasm of the year ahead will bring. For me, I am very excited but I know I won't be able to keep those resolutions I made so no point in making them in the first place.

For the brand new year, I have learned a new technique from a tutorial by Mas of Whimsical. Below are the earring and bracelet that I have made using her tutorial.

Tomorrow I will be setting up a stall to sell my handmade jewelry at ATIC, Lorong Macalister, Penang in support of the ATI College Charity Food Fair. Part of the proceeds will go to Makna. (Cancer Foundation).

It was only last week that a good friend of mine asked me whether I would like to participate in the charity fair and since it is for a good cause, I readily agreed. So I have to rush to complete as many pieces of jewelry as possible in time for tomorrow's fair. I only have evening time to do my jewelry therefore I can only manage to complete 2 or 3 pieces at a time.

My Jewelry journey....

My journey in jewelry making begins pretty late... you can say I am a late bloomer. Mmm.... as the saying goes "better be late than never". It started in December 2008 when a close friend of mine pasted a link of a jewelry online store and asked me to take a look. When I clicked at the link I saw the blog featuring some of our Malaysian beaders and boy... was I inspired! I saw the jewelry made by the beaders are really beautiful. It really sparked my passion and my interest in wanting to learn more about jewelry making. I was intrigued by how those beaders are able to bend and manipulate the wires into such beautiful necklaces, bracelets, etc. So I searched the internet and bought books and magazines to educate myself and started to learn making jewelry. I have been making jewelry since and I found it to be very thereupeutic. I love wearing jewelry that I have made as I love to accessorise my attire. You know accessories can make a simple dress or top looks complete. You can either dress up or dress down by just simply changing your necklace or bracelet or earrings to suit the occassion.
